The storage of waste material and debris on any floor cannot exceed the allowable floor loads.

In a wooden floor building, demolition contractors can remove wood flooring boards that are one floor above grade to store debris. If it will not threaten the structure's stability, contractors can remove floor arches to an elevation up to 25 feet above grade.

Do not remove wood floor beams bracing interior or free-standing exterior walls until the beams are replaced with other equivalent support.

Block off storage space for dumped material, except for openings necessary for the removal of material. Keep openings closed except for when removing material.
